Performance Research can model the complete motor on the computer. Specializing in valve train development we can model the valve train to 99% accuracy using data gathered from actual components or computer designed parts.

Every valve train part is weighed and all the dimensions are measured. We include data such as the moment of inertia for rocker arms, frequency of each valve spring, weight of each spring, weight of the pushrod, length of the pushrod, weight of the valve, weight of the lifter, type lifter, cam profile, and the valve train geometry. All of this and more go into a customer’s valve train profiles. The customer’s profile is used to computer model their valve train. We can use this model to help them optimize what they are using and test new products designed for their application. The effect of changing any part can be observed and evaluated. Accurately predicting the result of changing a cam profile, spring, or any other part allows us to make changes before spending the time money to have them produced.
